No, scheduling a consultation does not oblige you to retain my legal services. The consultation is an opportunity for me to understand your legal needs and evaluate my ability to help you. It is a chance for both parties to decide whether we are suitable for each other without any commitment.
How are your legal services priced, and do you charge hourly rates?
My legal services are priced case by case, which ensures that my fees are consistent with the specific needs and complexity of your case. I offer block fees instead of hourly rates, which gives you a clear and predictable cost structure for the services I provide.
What is your cancellation or refund policy, and what if I am not satisfied with your services?
Once payment for my services is processed, it is considered final. Unfortunately, I do not offer refunds, but you can cancel any services you have booked that you have not yet paid for. I am committed to your satisfaction. If you feel dissatisfied with my services, please contact me to discuss your concerns. I will do my best to address your problems and offer an alternative service that could better meet your needs. My top priority is to offer you the most effective and appropriate legal support, while retaining your trust and satisfaction. Depending on the circumstances, partial refunds or credits may be offered to you or your team.
Can you represent me in court?
As a law clerk, my primary role is to provide legal support, supporting you or your legal representative. Although I can provide extensive legal guidance and help prepare your case, I am not licensed to represent clients in court. My services include legal research, document preparation, and other supportive tasks to compliment your legal representation. There are limited situations where I can act as your agent for simple matters, but this comes with risks, as I am not licensed by the LSO as a paralegal or lawyer and am not an officer of the court. This is assessed case by case, and only if it is in your best interests. I can however refer you to a paralegal colleague that can provide representation in most situations. If a lawyer is necessary or an entity is necessary, you will be referred to them.
How do I pay for your services? How do I know it's safe?
Payments will be processed through Zoho Invoice via Stripe, a secure and well-known payment system. I will not have access to your personal banking information or the ability to retain it. It is very secure, with a separate server that processes your information and uses end-to-end AES-256 bit encryption to ensure that nothing ever falls into the wrong hands. This type of encryption is virtually impossible to breach, and is the gold standard for encrypting classified or private information to ensure that your data is protected by an iron fortress. I also accept a certified cheque, Interac e-transfer, PayPal, money order / wire transfer, or cash.
